Trend Removal in Measurements of Best Linear Time-Varying Approximations—With Application to Operando Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy

چکیده

Equilibria evolving over time, also called trends, are often present in ongoing measurements of real-life systems. These trends considered as disturbances when computing the best linear time-varying approximation (BLTVA) system. Current techniques for dealing with BLTVA consist modeling trend a finite number basis functions. However, dominant cannot always be captured well enough by this set functions, and hence, uncertainty on increases. As consequence, one loses low-frequency information. In article, state-of-the-art method estimating is extended removing differencing operator. It shown that novel technique, information becomes more visible. Moreover, decreases variance allows to measure fewer periods. Hence, technique improves route treating arbitrary out-of-equilibrium or operando, measurements. an illustration, it applied operando impedance three electrochemical processes: charging Li-ion battery cell, electrorefining copper, anodizing aluminum.

Combined operando X-ray diffraction–electrochemical impedance spectroscopy detecting solid solution reactions of LiFePO4 in batteries

Lithium-ion batteries are widely used for portable applications today; however, often suffer from limited recharge rates. One reason for such limitation can be a reduced active surface area during phase separation. Here we report a technique combining high-resolution operando synchrotron X-ray diffraction coupled with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy to directly track non-equilibrium inte...

Real-time impedance measurements during electrochemical experiments and their application to aniline oxidation.

Development of an in situ technique for measuring electrochemical impedance spectra in real time during an electrochemical experiment is described. The technique is based on staircase voltammetry with relatively large step heights, in which a series of increasing potential steps are applied to an electrochemical system, and the resulting currents are sampled. The first derivatives of the curren...

An integrated approach to electrochemical impedance spectroscopy

A philosophy for electrochemical impedance spectroscopy is presented which integrates experimental observation, model development, and error analysis. This approach is differentiated from the usual sequential model development for given impedance spectra by its emphasis on obtaining supporting observations to guide model selection, use of error analysis to guide regression strategies and experi...

Automated Impedance Measurements in Electrochemical Cells

In this paper a system is described for impedance measurements in electrochemical cells, integrated by a fast potentiostat, signal generator, digital transient recorder and a computer interface. The treatment of the signal is made by obtaining the correlation between the response cell signal with the in-phase and in-quadrature signals, as is made in the frequency response analysis systems, but ...

Using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy of salicylate anion selective electrode: simulation for behavior of electrode

In this paper, the behavior of the salicylate anion-selective electrode was studied using the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy technique. Considering the diagram of the charge transfer resistance and -logarithm of the double layer capacitance versus -logarithm of the concentration, linear range concentration increased to 1.0×10^{-8}-1.0×10^{-1} M and 1.0×10^{-9}-1.0×10^{-1} M, respectivel...
